I read with dismay that - not content with a near-dead High Street - plans are now afoot to build a massive Sainsbury on the Co-Op sight. Not only will that spell the end of what local shops are left - these plans include the "relocation" of Christ Church. What about the many toddler groups, brownies, rainbows, WI, slimming groups, dance clubs etc that use this hall? Christchurch Hall is used every weekday morning till night - what about them - they do not all drive you know. As for re-location - WHERE? you have built a load of rubbish on what sites we had left (but forgot the extra schools/amenities/etc that were needed to accommodate them). Finally you have sold out our children - you tried to sell off our infant School too Tesco till the Govenors stopped you - now you are prepared to flatten their hall - all in the name of profit. We have a Sainsbury down the road, we have Aldi and co-op (plus several Tesco outlets plus co-op outlets) already - if you let Sainsbury touch Christchurch then you really have scrapped the bottom of the barrel..
