Nevendon Road Congestion

Following my rant on the 6th December 08 about the congestion on Nevendon Road, and how long it takes to get in to Wickford I wrote to Mr Baron MP. I
asked what plans existed to ease congestion once all these new homes are completed which would result in more cars trying to get in and out of the
town on single track roads?
Eventually he received a response from a Robert Overall, Executive Director for Environment, Sustainability & Highways, Essex County Council who stated:
"Linking the town centre to the north was an improvement proposed for Runwell Road but this has not been progressed. To the south, the dualling of the remaining link between Wickford and the A127 was also proposed but has not been progressed due to lack of funding."
Fabulous, so hundreds of new homes and now it seems possibly a prison with hundreds more cars and no plans to improve the roads accessing them! I
think I better start packing lunch for something to do when entering Wickford!

We agree! We have always said that the 650 flats the
Master Plan are not being backed up by improvements to the infrastructure.
