I noticed earlier this week the notices for the above along LSR.  Looks like the council has given up on waiting and will boot out important businesses with no new home to go to.

We've had a number of comments from residents about this, and what worries most is the loss of the Sorting Office. Many Wickford people commute to London, and often arrive home to find a note that a parcel wasn't delivered, and to collect it at the Sorting Office. If this is re-located outside the town centre, it will be a great inconvenience.

The Wickford Action Group is against this, and we will submit an objection. Other residents are also urged to object to this Order, and some guidance on how to do this is given on our CPO page, comments have to be in by 21 October. It seems to us that the only beneficiary of this CPO is the developer, so why the Council should be supporting him rather than the residents who elected them is a mystery to us. (well, it isn't really...)
