Council runs on greed
Yellow Advertiser, 16 October 2008, letters
page
HAVING read the article on Basildon's proposed council charge for those who pay for council services, it is just another example of imposed
money grabbing by a council that is motivated by greed.
They can afford to find £32,000 of rate-payers money to head hunt for some one to further the drain on resources.
This is further invasion into people's privacy by having to provide personal bank details.
One has only to look at the amount of flats being built in Wickford, allowed by the council, regardless of damage to the infrastructure, again only to generate more rates for the council to misuse, to prove a point.
One wonders what rate-payers have to do to change this culture of councils? They demand more and more money from us all, with no regard to where one gets it from or those on fixed income, yet always find money for their own wage increases.
I'm a pensioner on fixed income so these demands are a constant worry and I am sure I am not alone here.
Roll on local election, lets hope for change.
