Big Coup for Firm Paul
Giles, Yellow Advertiser, 29 November 2007
CHAMPAGNE corks were popping for Chris Balch this week after his company secured a £60,000 contract.
DTZ Consultants UK has been taken on by Government quango, Basildon Renaissance, to help find a development partner for Wickford Town Centre.
The deal was a double celebration for Mr Balch because he is both chairman of Basildon Renaissance and managing director of DTZ's UK operations. He was unavailable for comment
at the time of going to press.
Mr Balch became chairman of Basildon Renaissance in November 2006.
At the time of his appointment, he said: "I am delighted to take on the Independent Chairmanship of Basildon Renaissance, and look forward to working with all of the partners to ensure that the ambitious regeneration plans for the district are realised."

DTZ has offices all over the globe and claims to be one of the world's biggest real estate advisers, operating in 45 countries.
The firm also provides commercial property consultancy services to Basildon Council.
DTZ was responsible for valuations on properties at Gardiners Lane South in Basildon prior to a proposed compulsory purchase orders.
Basildon Council's deputy leader, Tony Ball, spoke of his delight at DTZ securing more public sector work.
He said: "DTZ will help us to attract millions of pounds of investment needed to revitalise the centre and instil new pride in the town.
"The consultants will be carrying out high-level work to secure a long-term development partner for Wickford."
Comment from the
Wickford Action Group
We will be asking questions as to the legality and ethics of this and
other contracts being awarded by The Chairman of Basildon Renaissance to
himself. |
