Distribution of shops in Wickford

A walk around Wickford on 20th September 2007 revealed the following distribution of shops within the area defined by the Master Plan, a total of 183 outlets

• Restaurants & takeaways combined, or cooked food is the highest at 21

• second highest is empty shops, 18 (9 of which are on pending building plots)

• Third is hairdressing/nail bars/tanning shops at 15

• Fourth is estate agents at 10

• Banks/Building societies at 7

• There are 7 chemists, including 5 dispensing

• News agents at 5

What will the Master Plan give us apart from flats and more flats............yes more eating places and a night life zone.
